Simone Biles and the U.S. women’s gymnastics team delivered an impressive performance for the celebrity-filled audience during Olympic qualifying at the Bercy Arena on Sunday, despite Biles appearing to injure her lower left leg during floor warmups.

The U.S. team, strong favorites for gold in the absence of Russia, scored 172.296 points, placing them over five points ahead of Italy. No other team came close in qualifying. The U.S. women had five scores of 14.5 or higher, including Biles’ 15.8 on vault, and only one score lower than 13.6. The team finals are scheduled for Tuesday night.

Cecile Landi, one of Biles’ coaches, stated after Sunday’s qualifying session that she isn’t worried about Biles continuing to compete in Paris. Landi explained that Biles’ left calf was the issue, but noted that Biles “felt better at the end (of the session), yeah.”
